I was wondering if you had a moment to discuss something that's been concerning me.

For the record, it isn't the Prefects' fault for the curfew. They don't search our packages because they want to. It's their job, people. And it's incredibly immature to cause them bodily harm because you don't like the rules right now. Not only that, but it's contradictory. What if -- Merlin forbid! -- the faculty decided to punish us even more after this? To whoever is responsible for yesterday's packages, think about someone other than just yourself!

In other news, if you see Madame Marchand around today, say something nice to her. I think she may be feeling discouraged lately.

So I was looking at my schedule for next week and the fact that we have an Event Planning meeting this Sunday made me remember all about the Sadie Hawkins dance. It's going to be canceled now because of the curfew! I was trying to be positive but you can officially count me amongst the band wagon of people pouting because of this punishment.

But since there's nothing we can do about it let's play a game shall we? I don't know any fancy ones so how about a simple word association? I'll start.

For the record, I was there when Maksim fell in and the ice didn't look dangerous! Of course, I don't ice skate much so I suppose I wouldn't know. I feel foolish that we were careless but just a lesson that you can never be too cautious, I suppose.

This is an odd question but I can't seem to stop wondering. Is The Giant Squid male or female? It's been there so long someone has to know, don't they? Someone's parent or someone very involved in Care of Magical Creatures perhaps?

And no, before you ask Corbin, I did not look at its naughty bits. I don't know that I would even be able to distinguish that kind of thing from simply giving it a once over. I know nothing of squid anatomy!

Okay, I know there's been talk of sneaking out. There always is and I DON'T want to know who or what or where! Just know that if I see you, I have to report you. Your friends in Astronomy Club probably won't care enough to "tattle" on you but it won't look so good on me being the Student Leader if I don't.

I don't like turning people in, so if you're planning on joining without permission please just be clever about it. And if I catch you, don't try and whine and moan your way out of it. If you're caught, you're caught and that's all I have to say about it.

Do the girls of the Hufflepuff dorm have any preferances for what flowers we should put up in the room for the semester? I was thinking Dahlias or Geraniums for Spring, of course, but I'm open to suggestions. I'm not the only one who will have to look at them until summer, after all! I'm thinking of putting some up in the Common Room too, if no one minds.

It's been so hard to find time to redecorate since we've arrive back. I've been scheduling more Potions study sessions for myself since I really didn't do as well as I expected on the mid-term. But like dad always says, growing things is good for the soul and so if anyone wants to join me in the Green Houses the company would be welcome!
